Position Overview
Ghent Landscape is currently seeking a Helical Pile Installer / Equipment Operator to fill a vacant position within our growing carpentry division.
This role is responsible for installing helical pile foundations and supporting a variety of residential deck projects, and landscape construction projects through equipment operation, excavation, grading, site preparation, and material handling activities. The successful candidate will operate mini excavators, skid steers, trucks, trailers, and other equipment to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.
What You'll Do
- Install helical pile foundations for landscape structures, decks, and related construction projects
- Read and interpret site layouts, construction drawings, and utility locates
- Operate mini excavators, skid steers, trucks, trailers, and related equipment
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, demolition, and site preparation activities
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment
- Complete equipment inspections and project documentation
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional job site
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members
- Support landscape construction and related construction activities as required
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in carpentry, landscape construction, excavation, construction, or a related field preferred
- Experience operating mini excavators, skid steers, or similar equipment is considered an asset
- Helical pile installation experience is an asset; training may be provided to the right candidate
- Ability to read and follow construction drawings, layouts, and utility locates
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced outdoor environment
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual labour
- Valid G Class Driver's Licence with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation to and from our Petersburg location

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
