Overview
Vulcraft Canada is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Technician to join our finance team at our 1295 Cormorant Road, Ancaster on a fulltime permanent basis.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Maintain financial records and accounting data using computerized accounting systems, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger, payroll, intercompany, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including payroll entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other adjusting entries.
- Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.
- Maintain the general ledger and support the preparation of trial balances and financial statements.
- Administer fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, disposals, construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts, fixed asset registers, and related reconciliations.
- Prepare inventory reports and reconcile inventory-related accounting transactions.
- Review payment runs to identify duplicate or incorrect payments and assist with Accounts Payable invoice processing and vendor payments.
- Prepare and submit GST/HST remittances in accordance with applicable government regulations.
- Assist with payroll accounting by recording payroll journal entries and reconciling payroll-related accounts.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare financial information, supporting schedules, and accounting reports for corporate reporting systems.
- Prepare audit schedules, tax packages, and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Prepare financial, accounting, and statistical reports for management and corporate reporting purposes.
- Verify the accuracy of accounting records and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and established financial procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be fluent in English
- Bachelor's degree, with a concentration in Accounting and Finance
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a full cycle accounting role
- Must be able to use SAP, MS Office Suite, and Oracle at an intermediate level
- Must be able to work independently, have attention to detail, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
- Must have excellent written and oral communication in English
- Be a team player and organized

Wage: $36.92 - $40.00, wages are usually reviewed on an annual basis.
Location of work: This position is not remote and requires 5 days/week working from the office.
