Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Ink Technician (Flexographics) to work in an in-plant, warehouse-style production environment. This role focuses on mixing, blending, and quality control of solvent-based flexographic inks used in food packaging (flour and sugar bags). The successful candidate will train on site under an experienced Ink Technician Manager and support press operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Mix and prepare solvent-based flexographic inks according to specifications
- Blend and adjust colours to meet quality standards (QC)
- Perform ink testing and quality checks before release to press
- Transport approved ink batches by cart to press operators
- Work closely with press operators to support production runs
- Maintain accurate records and follow safety procedures
- Keep ink room and work areas clean and organized
- Use basic technology and systems for tracking and documentation
Job Timings During Training:
- Training Period (1–3 months):
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
After Training:
- Afternoon/Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Overtime: Available
- Weekend shifts: Rotating, as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Comfortable working in a warehouse/production environment
- Detail-oriented with strong colour matching ability
- Technically inclined and able to learn new systems
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Reliable, punctual, and interested in a long-term career
- Previous experience with inks, printing, or manufacturing is an asset (but not required)
