Ottawa Deck Pro is looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join our growing team.
Whether you are an experienced builder or someone eager to learn the trade, we want to hear from
you. The ideal candidate will have some background in residential construction, deck framing, or
finishing work, but we are willing to train the right person who shows up ready to work hard and take
pride in their craft. This is a hands-on outdoor role that requires reliability, a strong work ethic, and a
passion for building quality structures that homeowners love.
Duties
Assist with the framing and structural building of residential decks from the ground up. Perform finishing
work including decking board installation, railing systems, stairs, and trim details. Read and follow
basic construction plans or project layouts to complete tasks accurately. Use hand tools and power
tools safely and effectively on the job site. Keep the work site clean, organized, and safe throughout all
phases of the project. Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment as needed. Work closely
with the lead carpenter or site supervisor to ensure quality craftsmanship on every build. Follow all
safety guidelines and company procedures at all times. Represent Ottawa Deck Pro professionally
when working on client properties.
What We Are Looking For
Experience in deck framing, finishing, or general residential construction is a strong asset. No
experience is also welcome if you are motivated, reliable, and willing to learn. Must have a reliable form
of transportation to get to and from job sites on time. Ability to work outdoors in various weather
conditions throughout the season. Comfortable with physical work including lifting, carrying materials,
and working on your feet all day. Strong attention to detail especially when it comes to finishing and
visible workmanship. Able to take direction well and work efficiently as part of a small close-knit team.
Punctual, dependable, and takes pride in showing up ready to work every single day.
Experience
Prior experience with deck framing, decking installation, railing systems, or stairs is preferred but not
required. Familiarity with common hand tools and power tools such as circular saws, drills, nail guns,
and levels. Any background in carpentry, landscaping, roofing, or general labor is considered an asset.
Experience reading basic construction drawings or material lists is a bonus. Most importantly we value
attitude, reliability, and a willingness to grow with the company.
