Payroll Accountant / Supervisor

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Supervisor to lead payroll operations for a workforce of 300+ employees. This role combines payroll administration, compliance, system management, and payroll accounting while supervising a Payroll Clerk.
Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional Payroll Certification is an asset
- 3–5 years of payroll or related experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, payroll legislation, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- English required; French is an asset
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the Payroll Clerk
- Oversee accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for 300+ hourly and salaried employees
- Manage payroll systems, updates, testing, and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and statutory remittances
- Prepare year-end payroll reporting, including T4s, RL-1s, and ROEs
- Reconcile payroll accounts, prepare journal entries, and support month-end close activities
- Provide payroll reporting and audit support
- Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors to maintain efficient payroll operations
Pay: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
