Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Manager to lead our cafe operations. The ideal candidate will oversee daily activities, ensure exceptional customer service, and manage staff effectively. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for food and beverage service, and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant management. The Cafe Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and hospitality while fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily cafe operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to maintain a motivated and professional team.
- Oversee food handling procedures, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Handle cash transactions using Micros POS systems accurately and securely.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, resolving complaints, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Coordinate inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Lead interviewing processes for new hires and participate in onboarding new team members.
- Monitor restaurant performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with health codes, safety regulations, and hospitality industry standards.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, leadership development, and professional growth.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in food service or restaurant management roles.
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within the food industry or hospitality sector.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms for cash handling transactions.
- Previous experience in restaurant or hotel management is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and conduct interviews for hiring new staff.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, kitchen operations, and customer service excellence is essential.
- Experience with barista duties or bar service is a plus but not required.
