As a Shipping/Receiving Clerk , you will be responsible for the physical receiving of engines, freight, packages and arranging transport of spare engine crates with shipping/freight companies and prepare associated shipping documentation. The individual is required to work closely with various departments to ensure safety, security and overall organization of the warehouse and contents, are within compliance and meet the department/company standards.
Responsibilities
- Controls storage, shipping, handling, delivery and serial numbers of engine crates.
Monitors engine crate deliveries to customers and alerts CSM and customer if engine crate is delayed.
Maintains engine crate database.
Secure, package and ship aircraft engines or spare crate to locations as specified using approved carriers and/or freight forwarders.
Liaison with courier representatives, customs brokers, customers and internal Customer Service to ensure the efficient flow of material.
Track shipments to help ensure they reach the destination on time. Work out problems with the courier reps and keep the supervisor informed of problems.
Process in-coming and out-going engine per the applicable instructions and communicate information as required to all parties
Operate the courier shipping system and/or fill out manual documents ensuring all documentation is correct.
Operate forklift equipment to receive deliveries and send shipments.
Assist/perform loading/unloading or material from delivery vehicles.
Prepare arrival notifications, customs and shipping documents for shipment.
Process time sensitive materials in a fast pace environment.
Perform/maintain engine humidity log and engine crate auditing.
Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment in the warehouse area as set up by our 5S standards.
Maintain HAZMAT certification and documentation approval.
Perform all other duties as required to ensure departmental efficiencies.
Position Requirements
- Valid class 5 driver's license (or equivalent)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for approximately 25% of the average work day.
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the shift
Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and statutory holidays as operationally required.
Must be eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis.
Preferred Characteristics
Experience in the field of logistics, shipping, warehouse or transportation is an asset
Experience with LTL carriers, freight classes, and NMFCs is an asset
Working knowledge of transportation management software an asset
Forklift certification or ability to obtain
