Job Overview
We are currently seeking for an enthusiastic pet store retail sales associate to join our team. We are looking for a highly motivated, pet enthusiast associate to help our customers and their pets.
Duties
- Absolute customer service – friendly, knowledgeable, desire to get to know customers and meet their needs
- Able to work at a fast-paced environment
- Sales and service on the floor; building customer relationships using knowledge of products and services that are concerned with the well-being of our customer’s pets
- Utilize point-of-sale (POS) systems for processing transactions efficiently.
- Efficient cash handling and getting a customer on their way, while at the same time conversing with them to get to know them.
- Carry out large, awkward or heavy products to the customer’s vehicle.
- Sell value, knowledge and nutrition; educate each and every customer on nutrition
- Handle returns when appropriate. Follow up with the customer on any outstanding issues
- Handle customer requests for information or product; follow-up with that customer until the transaction is complete
- Create a welcoming atmosphere through attitude, spirit and enthusiasm
- Ensure all shelves are clean and dusted, including all stock on the shelves and hanging on pegboard
- Ensure products are pulled from the stock room and shelves are full stocked at all times
- Ensure all close out procedures are followed
Qualifications
- Experience in retail and pet ownership
- Able to perform well in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly
- Flexible in hours willing to work evening, weekends and holidays
- A cheerful outlook and work well with others
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
