About the role
You're the first face every dog parent sees when they walk in, and the last one they see when they leave. That matters. This is a hybrid role: half of your day is reception, customer service, and admin — the other half is in the floor handling dogs alongside the team. You need to be equally comfortable greeting a nervous new client and helping break up a wrestling match between two labs.
What you'll do
Front of house
- Greet clients (human and canine) by name
- Check dogs in and out, log notes, manage handovers
- Answer phones, reply to emails, manage the booking inbox
- Use our booking software (Gingr today, our own platform soon — we train)
- Process payments, handle invoicing questions
- Schedule daycare, boarding, and grooming appointments
- Resolve customer issues with grace and follow-through
- Keep the lobby clean, organized, and on-brand
On the floor
- Step in when the team needs hands
- Assist with intake exams (temperament checks on new dogs)
- Walk dogs between front and play areas, manage handoffs
- Light cleaning, restocking, laundry
What we need from you
- Strong customer service instincts — genuinely warm with people, patient with the difficult ones
- Comfortable around dogs of all sizes (this one's non-negotiable — if you'd be nervous in a room of 30 dogs, this isn't your role)
- Organized, detail-oriented, can juggle phones + email + walk-ins without dropping a ball
- Strong spoken and written English
- Comfortable on computers; pick up new software quickly
- Professional, dependable, even-keeled in a fast-paced environment
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Flexible on schedule — Atlas Paws runs 24/7. Most shifts are daytime, but occasional overnights, weekends, and holiday coverage are part of the role
- Team-player attitude — front desk doesn't say "that's not my job"

- Previous reception, admin, or hospitality experience
