Modbox is looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator for a Fly-In, Fly-Out (FIFO) role in Pikangikum. This position is all about production and execution. We need a capable operator to handle site preparation, excavation, and moving machinery to get our upcoming work sites completely ready for construction.
The schedule will be 21 days on, 7 days off.

Key Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Safely and efficiently operate heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, loaders to clear land, move materials, and prepare sites for construction.
- Screw Pile Installation: Safely operate specialized hydraulic equipment to precise depths, monitoring torque readings to ensure solid foundation placement.
- Site Coordination : Drive and maneuver commercial vehicles and heavy equipment between sites.
- Equipment Operation and Driving: Drive and maneuver commercial vehicles and heavy equipment between sites.
- Logistics and Freight: Load and unload freight and materials using the appropriate equipment to keepsite prep moving smoothly.
- Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct routine pre-operation inspections and maintenance to ensure performance and longevity of all machinery.
- On-Site Troubleshooting: Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed to minimize project downtime in a remote setting.
- Project Execution: Follow blueprints, grade stakes, and supervisor instructions to complete earthmoving and site tasks accurately.
- Site Cleanliness: Maintain an organized work environment, ensuring proper waste disposal and a clean job site.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven Experience: Strong background operating heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, loaders, forklifts etc) in construction, earthmoving, and commercial settings.
- Licensing: A valid DZ License is preferred; an AZ License is acceptable.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of site grading, freight handling procedures, and industrial equipment operation.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic automotive or mechanical repair skills are a strong asset for troubleshooting equipment issues on-site.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
