Experienced Hardscape Installer / Crew Lead – Canadian Hardscape Contractors
Job Description:
Canadian Hardscape Contractors is a growing, family-run landscape construction company based in Barrie, specializing in high-end hardscape and outdoor living projects.
We are currently looking to add experienced hardscape installers to our team. This role is for individuals who take pride in their work, understand proper installation practices, and want to be part of a professional crew building quality projects.
This is not a maintenance position — this is hands-on landscape construction.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Installing interlock patios, walkways, and driveways (Unilock experience is an asset)
- Building retaining walls, steps, and armor stone features
- Site preparation including excavation, grading, base installation, and compaction
- Operating equipment (mini excavator, skid steer, plate tamper, etc.)
- Working from layouts and plans to ensure accuracy
- Collaborating with a crew to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2+ years of hardscape / landscape construction experience (required)
- Strong understanding of base prep and interlock installation practices
- Ability to operate equipment safely and confidently
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated to work
- Strong attention to detail and pride in finished work
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Valid driver’s license
Bonus Skills (Assets):
- Experience leading a crew or acting as a crew lead
- Ability to read drawings and complete layouts independently
- Experience with natural stone or wet lay installs
- AZ/DZ license
Compensation & Perks:
- $30–$35/hour, based on experience and skill level
