Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Carpenter role based in Leeds and the Thousand Islands, ON. The Carpenter will perform a range of construction tasks, everything from foundation to framing, installing structural components, and completing finish carpentry such as trim, doors, and cabinetry. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting drawings, applying industry-standard construction best practices, and operating a variety of specialized tools and materials. The role also involves site preparation, material handling, working with other trades, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. The Carpenter is expected to follow company standards, building codes, and health and safety regulations while delivering high-quality workmanship.
Qualifications
- Strong carpentry skills with experience in general construction and residential or commercial projects.
- Proficiency in framing and structural work, including accurate measuring, cutting, and installation.
- Skilled in finish carpentry, such as trim, doors, windows, and cabinetry installation.
- Confident use of hand tools (e.g., hammers, levels, measuring tapes) and power tools (e.g., saws, drills) with a focus on safe operation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and working at heights.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work respectfully with diverse colleagues and clients.
- Previous experience as a Carpenter or completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or relevant training is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in Leeds and the Thousand Islands, ON.
- Boat license an asset.
Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
