We are seeking a subcontractor owner/operator red seal heavy duty mechanic equipped with a service truck to join our FSJ team!

Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment as directed
- Perform routine scheduled and planned maintenance services & safety inspections
- Field, shop, and yard work as required
- Able to work overtime and weekends as required
What do we require?
- Red seal certification Heavy Duty Technician
- Subcontractor owner/operator equipped with service truck including welder, power generation, crane, air compressor, and laptop with machine hookup capabilities
- Excellent diagnostic and communication skills
- Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision
- Experience in electrical systems and electronic controls
- Experience in diesel engine repair and/or overhaul
- Thorough knowledge and experience troubleshooting and repairing of hydraulic componentry systems, hydrostatic drives, automatic power shift, and standard transmissions and driveline componentry
- Knowledge with CAT, Komatsu, and John Deere
- Good computer skills
- All current, valid safety tickets required by SLE
- Side boom experience considered an asset
Note: Must be local to Fort St. John or able to reliably commute for work each day. This is not a camp based position.
