Maintenance Technician – Property Management

About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our property management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining residential rental properties, completing repairs, preparing units for new tenants, and ensuring our properties remain safe, clean, and well-maintained.
A reliable truck or vehicle with towing capacity is required, as occasional transportation of equipment, trailers, and materials from suppliers or between properties is part of the role.
Responsibilities
- Complete general maintenance and repair work at residential properties.
- Perform unit turnovers, including repairs, painting, touch-ups, and minor renovations.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, doors, locks, windows, and other building components.
- Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance issues.
- Coordinate with contractors when specialized repairs are required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of common areas.
- Complete seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal coordination and landscaping as needed.
- Pick up and transport materials, supplies, appliances, and equipment between properties and suppliers.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and communicate updates with management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential property maintenance or a related trade.
- Strong knowledge of general building maintenance and repair.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- Reliable truck or vehicle with towing capacity.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in property management maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting.
- Experience operating trailers or towing equipment is considered an asset.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
