JOB SUMMARY:
The medical transportation driver provides compassionate, caring and reliable transportation to clients. The Medical transportation driver’s responsibility is to ensure that clients reach their destinations in a safe and timely manner. To ensure privacy, dignity, and sensitivity to client’s needs are maintained at all times.
- Transport community members as assigned to various locations
- Ensure the safety and comfort of residents during transport by maintaining fleet vehicles in safe and sanitary conditions, driving safely and cautiously according to road conditions, and adhering to traffic laws at all times
- Assist residents into and out of vehicles as required
- Maintain transportation records
- Ensure that confidentiality as per program policy is maintained
- Report issues and needs related to maintenance, repair and replacement of the program fleet of vehicles and any other issues to the program manager
- Other duties as may be assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Knowledge
· Must possess a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience
· Must possess a valid Driver’s license (Ontario/Quebec)
· Must provide a Driver’s Abstract and clear Criminal Record Check on an annual basis
· Must be certified in First Aid/CPR. (we can provide training)
Other Skills/Abilities
· Satisfactory criminal reference check including Vulnerable Sector search
· An appreciation of indigenous culture and traditions
