SALARY: Starting Salary Opportunity: $ 96,000 +
B ONUS : Bonus at Target $24,000

LOCATION: Toronto Office, 5 days/week in office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for ensuring company strategy is in compliance with regulation - works with corporate to identify risks and opportunities
- Responsible for the review of and adherence to Control Policies
- Responsible for the communication, execution and education of the control policies within the organization - lead point of contact for the education of functional leaders
- Provide support to the business to ensure consistency with Group accounting policies and relevant generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Support various ad hoc requests from the business (e.g. Public Affairs, Treasury, Internal Audit, Sales, Distribution, etc.)
- Responsible for ensuring continued compliance with/reporting of internal control policies/requirements and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
- Liaising with internal and external auditors to provide support for internal controls and SOX assessments, to address any internal audit issues that have been noted, and to provide/implement process improvement suggestions if applicable
- Involved in the design, testing and implementation of internal controls as part of the implementation of a new ERP system
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3–6+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or internal controls
- CPA designation (or in progress) strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with SOX compliance and internal controls testing/design, including exposure to audit processes
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage stakeholders, with strong organization and self-starter mindset
