Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Glazier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass in various structures, including windows, doors, and storefronts. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality workmanship. The Glazier will work both independently and as part of a team to complete projects on time and to specifications.
Duties
- Measure and cut glass to specified dimensions using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Install glass in windows, doors, and other structures securely and efficiently.
- Repair or replace broken glass in existing installations while ensuring safety standards are met.
- Apply sealants and adhesives as necessary to ensure proper insulation and weatherproofing.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, and clients to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition; report any malfunctions or safety issues.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while working on-site to ensure a safe work environment.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Glazier or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training may be provided.
- Familiarity with glass cutting tools, installation techniques, and safety practices is advantageous.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
