Position Highlights
We have a temporary 6 months opportunity for Operator II Print and Mail Services at our Corporate Head Office,151West Esplanade in North Vancouver.
Working as an Operator II you will be responsible for operating production printing and letter inserting equipment, acquiring the necessary stock and supplies to run print jobs and bundling finished products.
Using your print expertise, you will:
- Choose the best output device for printing
- Perform bindery service
- Move raw materials and finished products
- Accurately record and document volume of printed and inserted letters
You will alternate between the following shifts:
- Monday to Friday from 5:00am to 1:00pm
- Monday to Friday from 11:00 am to 7:30pm
An additional 12% premium is applied if required to work before 6am.
Position Requirements
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- An understanding of desktop printing
- An understanding of printing using QDirect or similar printing queue software would be considered an asset
- An understanding of production letters inserting equipment would be beneficial
- An understanding of creating digital files for output to large-scale laser printers
- An understanding of Excel for recording printed & inserted letters would be beneficial
- An understanding of printing reports and form letters for mailing
- Previous experience working in a fast paced, quality-oriented manufacturing/production environment
- A post-secondary education that helps support your years of experience in a large volume printing operation
The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills and enjoys working in a close-knit team environment, as you will be joining a small but integral department within ICBC.
You will be exposed to dirt, dust, filth, garbage and noise. Steel-toed boots are a requirement, and hearing protection is recommended.
