Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Sous Chef to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the daily operations of our authentic Italian restaurant. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary skills, a commitment to quality, and a deep appreciation for traditional Italian cuisine. The Junior Sous Chef plays a key role in maintaining kitchen standards, supervising team members, and ensuring excellent food quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation and execution of Italian dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff during service and ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items.
- Support daily food preparation, mise en place, and station organization.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation procedures.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and new employees.
- Assist in developing seasonal menus, daily specials, and recipe improvements.
- Help control food costs, minimize waste, and maximize kitchen efficiency.
- Step into leadership responsibilities when the Head Chef or Sous Chef is absent.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and operated safely.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in an Italian restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, cooking techniques, and ingredients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent experience is preferred.

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
