Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs effectively
- Follow manufacturer specifications and schematics to ensure accurate repairs and installations
- Assist with vehicle diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing post-repair performance
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs, timelines, and maintenance recommendations
- Support team members with vehicle assembly or disassembly as needed for complex repairs or upgrades
- Engage in ongoing training to stay current with automotive technology advancements and dealership procedures
Skills
- Proven dealership experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in automotive repair techniques
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics for diagnostics and repairs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repair procedures
- Experience with vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting electrical systems, and component replacement
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and the use of diagnostic software
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately
- Prior experience working with heavy-duty equipment or performing welding tasks is a plus
