What You'll Be Doing
- Managing family law files from intake through resolution
- Providing legal advice and representation in court, mediation, and settlement discussions
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Conducting legal research and remaining current on legislative and case law developments
- Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering excellent, responsive client service
- Collaborating with other members of the firm when appropriate
What We're Looking For
- Current member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
- Previous experience practicing family law considered an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Alberta family law legislation and court procedures
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage files and conduct court appearances
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy practice
- Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service
- Collaborative, team focused, drama free personality that will blend well with our existing workforce
Structure & Pay
- Subcontractor role
- Fee-share compensation model
- Expected annual earnings are approximately +/-$120,000, depending on billings, collections, work
- Administrative support, office supplies, desk, technology, computer equipment, advertising, and collegial firm environment provided
