Your future role on our team
You’ll lead and support the strategic operational needs of the Mechanical Engineering department at the Mont-Saint-Hilaire office. You’ll be responsible for talent development, performance, technical excellence and the sustainable growth of this department's activities. You’ll work closely with project teams, various departments and corporate leaders to ensure resources are used optimally and the office’s objectives are achieved.
Located in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, BBA’s head office is the heart of our operations and the hub for many shared services. It’s also home to the “Big-E,” the centre of excellence in energy. Driven by a strong culture of collaboration, the corporate head office serves as a catalyst for collaboration among offices, enabling the rapid mobilization of the right resources and providing effective support to implement promising projects across the country and internationally. Leadership and department management
- Engage, coach and develop managers and team members
- Foster collaboration across offices, disciplines and departments

Help promote the department both internally and to clients

Performance and resource management
- Ensure productivity, quality and growth targets are met
- Support excellence in delivering strategic projects
- Maintain a balanced portfolio of OPEX and CAPEX projects
- Promote diversification of clients, markets and project types
Coordinate and optimize resource allocation

Talent development
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding and retaining employees
- Support skills development and succession planning
- Develop and ensure succession plans for key positions
Coach department managers on leadership matters

Business development
- Support business development activities and strategic opportunities
- Work with project managers, client account managers and sales teams
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients

Health, safety and environment
- Serve as a health, safety and environment ambassador
- Promote a culture of prevention and continuous improvement

Summary of certifications and job requirements
- Over 10 years of relevant engineering experience
- Recognized technical expertise in mechanical engineering in the renewable energy and industrial sectors
- Proven experience managing teams and resources
- Experience in business development and client relations
- Ability to lead and influence without direct authority in a matrix organization
