Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our small culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a fast-paced cafe kitchen environment. Our menu focuses on Korean fusion dishes, with hearty rice bowls and sandwiches. Candidates should possess a passion for food, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to specified recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Assist in the organisation of kitchen supplies and stock levels
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support the serving staff by providing timely and quality food delivery during service periods
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a cafe or kitchen environment
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
- Experience working in busy kitchens with high-volume meal preparation is desirable
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, and presentation styles
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles such as serving or front-of-house is advantageous but not essential
