Mental Health Worker (Developmental Services Worker)
You will be working with adults who have a Dual Diagnosis and provide support to all clients present in the home. You will be integral in the day to day lives of our clients and developing their life skills while providing quality care. Help foster lifelong friendships and community connections. Experience with Inuit and Indigenous culture is an asset.
This posting is for a casual position. Candidate must have 7 shifts of availability per month - weekends and evenings required.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Helping support mental health needs of dual diagnosis clients
- Providing personal care (toileting, showering, assisting with toothbrushing etc.)
- Managing challenging behaviours & behaviour tracking. Using sound judgement in crisis situations
- Creativity for developing and implementing activities and events with clients.
- Completing housekeeping/chores, meal preparation, medication administration and working collaboratively with the team
- Part Time rotations:
- Rotation : Saturdays & Sundays 8am-4pm
Qualifications
- Specialty in working with Mental Health
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Experience with Developmental Disabilities
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Access to a reliable vehicle as location in Navan, ON is not bus accessible

Salary information
- Salary is dependent on experience - base rate between $21-$24
- Shift premiums for weekend and overnight awake shifts, signing bonus and $3/hour Government Wage Enhancement available on top of base rate
Previous experience is required, but we are open to individuals with previous transferable skills such as:
- Support Worker, Personal Support Worker, Caregiver, Social Work, Community Support Worker, PSW, Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker, DSW, Group Home experience
