Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one supervision, engagement, and companionship to residents through activities such as conversation, walking, reading, games, television, or arts and crafts
- Support residents' emotional well-being and personhood by offering comfort, reassurance, and meaningful interaction
- Observe residents closely and report any changes in behaviour, mood, or physical condition to nursing staff or PSWs
- Assist residents with approved activities, mobility, and gentle exercises as directed by the care team
- Use Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) techniques to support residents experiencing responsive behaviours
- Maintain continuous supervision of the assigned resident to ensure safety and prevent incidents
- Complete required observation documentation and update DOS binders at scheduled intervals
- Assist with maintaining a clean and safe environment, including high-touch cleaning during outbreaks and supporting PPE organization
