As Construction Field Associate, you will be expected to:
· Perform repair and maintenance related tasks
· Provide skilled assistance to builders in planning and organizing building projects by interpreting and carrying out the directions of project managers and designers
· Interpret building plans, regulations and codes of practice in order to direct the progress of work and monitor compliance with construction documents
· Arrange supply of material and equipment
· Proactively communicate with project managers, architect, engineer, laborers, subcontractors and building officials
· Be responsible for health & safety provisions coordination on site
· Coordinate on-site contractors
· Manage time scheduling and provide updates on progress and scheduling
· Proactively handle the day-to-day operations of 1 - 4 jobs at a time
· Be responsible for quality control
· Direct subcontractors and employees to meet deadlines and ensure a high level of quality and safety
· Keep projects on schedule; anticipate potential issues
· Work hands-on as needed in a Lead Carpenter role
· Maintain consistent and accurate paperwork (i.e., work schedules, timecards, work orders, and daily project status updates)
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work site
· Be punctual and positive, set a professional tone for the rest of the crew
· Demonstrate commitment to the project, client, and the team
· Manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
· Dress presentably in appropriate professional attire
Travel both within the province and outside the province is required. Our construction projects include locations across Canada so travel is a requirement of the position. Travel may range from a couple days to a couple weeks. All expenses are covered.
