This position is funded through the Graduate Transition Initiative, delivered by techNL and the Department of Jobs, Growth and Rural Development. The initiative provides support to eligible companies that hire recent graduates into software development and tech sales roles, providing meaningful early-career experience while supporting long-term growth in Newfoundland and Labrador’s tech sector.
What You'll Be Working On
- Support tooling — Build the internal tools used to diagnose and resolve issues across deployed sites
- Remote device pipeline — Develop a two-way communication system for interacting with deployed medical devices (monitors, sensors, peripherals)
- Hardware integration — Write and upgrade software that interfaces with clinical hardware, handling device communication, data, and errors
- Logging and diagnostics — Build systems to collect and read logs from live environments to help with troubleshooting
What you'll do day to day
- Reading logs and helping triage bug reports from deployed clinical sites
- Building and improving support tools based on issues that come up in the field
- Working with clinical hardware to diagnose connectivity and communication problems
- Documenting issues, fixes, and workarounds
- Collaborating with developers to escalate bugs and confirm fixes
What We're Looking For
Required
- Ability to work full-time in Newfoundland and Labrador starting August 2026
- Legally entitled to work full-time in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Completion (within the past two years) of a minimum one-year post-secondary or skills-training program at a recognized NL institution (e.g., MUN, CNA, Keyin College, Get Building, etc.).
- Not currently enrolled as a full-time student.
- Working knowledge of full-stack development — React, C#/.NET, and SQL
- Clear written and verbal communication
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with hardware communication protocols (serial, USB, Bluetooth, HL7, or similar)
- Any exposure to medical device software, IoT, or embedded systems
- Experience with remote access or device management tools
- Interest in healthcare software
