Some flexibility and occasional additional hours may be required for special events or maintenance needs.Position OverviewWe are seeking a reliable, personable, and organized individual to serve as our combined Facility Manager and Bartender. This dual-role position is ideal for someone who thrives in a community-oriented environment and enjoys both hands-on operational work and customer service. As a Royal Canadian Legion branch, we are a welcoming space for veterans, their families, and the broader community. The successful candidate will help maintain a safe, clean, and respectful atmosphere while managing day-to-day operations and serving patrons at our bar.This is a key role in a small, values-driven organization where your contributions will have a direct and meaningful impact.Key ResponsibilitiesFacility Management:Oversee the daily opening and closing of the Legion facility.Ensure the premises are clean, well-maintained, and compliant with health, safety, and licensing regulations.Perform light cleaning, setup/teardown for events, and coordinate with contractors or suppliers as needed.Manage inventory (bar stock, supplies, etc.), place orders, and track expenses.Handle basic administrative tasks such as record-keeping, member communications, and reporting to the Executive Committee.Maintain security of the building and assets.Bartending & Customer Service:Prepare and serve beverages (beer, wine, spirits, non-alcoholic) in a friendly, efficient, and responsible manner.Engage positively with members, veterans, and guests while upholding Legion values of respect, camaraderie, and inclusivity.Process sales, manage cash/float, and maintain accurate records.Monitor and enforce responsible service of alcohol policies (Smart Serve standards).General:Support Legion events, meetings, and community activities as required.Work collaboratively with volunteers and the branch Executive.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: Previous experience in a bartending or customer service role is essential. Facility management, supervisory, or small-business operational experience is a strong asset.Certifications: Valid Smart Serve certification. Skills & Attributes:Strong interpersonal and communication skills – you enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds, including veterans.Reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.Attention to detail, organizational skills, and basic computer proficiency (email, basic spreadsheets, point-of-sale systems).Physically capable of light lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing cleaning/maintenance tasks.Respect for military veterans and alignment with Legion values (service, comradeship, remembrance).Other: Must be of legal drinking age in Ontario. Clean criminal record (vulnerable sector check may be required).
