Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will report directly to the Vice President of GMP Operations and work on-site in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. This role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing HVAC and refrigeration systems critical to controlled laboratory environments and agriculture operations. The technician will also support additional facilities management tasks to ensure seamless operation across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Relations:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and internal departments.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations for HVAC/refrigeration solutions.
Equipment Maintenance & Service:
- Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration systems on-site.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Schedule and conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC units to reduce downtime and increase reliability.
- Manage parts Inventory and order replacement parts to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
Operational Efficiency:
- Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce costs and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with the external customers to prepare and review quotes for maintenance and repairs.
Facilities Support:
- Provide additional support for facility maintenance, including minor repairs and troubleshooting of non-HVAC equipment.
- Assist in maintaining clean, organized, and safe facilities.
- Perform filter changes
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Become a member of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- HVAC/Refrigeration ticket is required.
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic experience.
- Knowledge of industrial DHU, AHU, chillers, and cascade refrigeration systems.
- Strong understanding of Desert-Aire or Keep-rite products and services.
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in facilities maintenance is an asset
Ability and Willingness to Work in the Following Conditions:
Exposure to pollen and allergens in the facility, as well as fumes, dust, odors, extreme heat temperatures, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, noise, protective gear, vibrations, and water.
