Part-time employment opportunity to work at the Macdonald Campus faculty club to provide assistance (mainly as server and housekeeper) during the lunch service to members.
Hiring Unit:
Macdonald Campus Faculty Club (Tadja Hall), located in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue
Position Summary:
Performs setup of tables in the dining room and conference room. Takes food orders from guests/members. Provides information on menu items. Brings water, bread, food and beverages to the tables. Act as liaison between guests and kitchen staff.
Performs general cleaning duties including dishes, fridges, dishwashers, counters, coffee equipment, laundering of table cloths, linen, towels, cleaning of floors and washrooms, etc.
Assists supervisor with restocking inventory in kitchen and fridges.
Takes lunch reservations over the phone.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
Previous experience in the food services industry. Good physical stamina. Interpersonal skills and excellent customer service approach. Capacity to multi-task. Willingness to be flexible and handle "what needs to be done" as member of a small unit. Ability to exercise cooperation within a small team. May be required to work the occasional week-end (one day) to accommodate a larger private event.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 (advanced) on a scale of 0-4, for Verbal communications.
