Position Summary:
Provides human resources support to ensure services, programs, and procedures comply with legislated requirements and company policies and procedures and are delivered in a timely manner. Works with the management team to ensure positive employee relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain employee files including absenteeism, vacations, service/seniority lists, probationary periods, health and safety accident investigation forms, disciplinary records, as well as update employee files as required
- Conduct full-cycle recruitment for hourly and skilled trades positions
- Administering the New Hire Orientation program covering policies and procedures, safety, team philosophy, and handbook review.
- Processes payroll for hourly employees
- Maintains plant-specific reference manuals, standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions that fall under the scope of Human Resources.
- Receives and responds to employee questions/concerns to ensure quick, courteous resolution.
- Deliver training and provide coaching to staff.
- Maintain training initiatives and records
- Ensure compliance with legislation/regulation and company policies.
- Responsible for benefits enrollment
- Administer WSIB claims management and return to work programs for workplace and non-workplace injuries or illnesses.
- Update and maintain company statistics, metrics, and reports.
- Manage EPC-Stratford's Internal Health & Safety Management System
- Assists in planning and presentation of all associate relations activities such as picnics, parties, BBQs, and special events.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate with specialization in Human Resources or equivalent;
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation (preferred)
- A minimum of two years progressive Human Resources experience
- Working knowledge of all relevant Acts, legislation and regulations (e.g., Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, WSIB, etc.);
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment with internal colleagues and management at all levels, as well as with external partners;
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills;
- Flexibility, sound judgement, and strong problem-solving skills to understand issues and resolve conflict in an appropriate manner;
- Professional demeanor and strong discretion in handling sensitive information with a focus on responsiveness and credibility;
- Excellent computer proficiency, particularly in MS Office, online research, and HRIS systems & databases; and
- Communication proficiency (written and verbal)
- Must be able to prioritize tasks
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
· Required to wear and use various types of PPE, including but not limited to Safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection on the plant floor.
· Plant floor is not climate controlled. May be exposed to various temperatures ranging from approximately 15 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius depending on outside weather conditions and temperatures.
