Job Summary
Hiring a Skilled laborer/Mechanics Helper/ First-year apprentice.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in building, rebuilding, and adjusting equipment. Repair or replace various equipment parts, install or repair defective parts using power tools and measuring instruments;
- Perform various welding tasks;
- With help of the mechanics, inspect equipment components for compliance with company operating standards;
- Perform maintenance activity, both scheduled and on request, including: lubricating moving parts, cleaning components, painting, etc...
- Clean and lubricate various equipment;
- Complete necessary forms;
- Clean the work stations, shop and yard as required
- Operate vehicles and shop equipment;
- Snow removal when required
- Perform other laboring related tasks as required.
- Some tasks may require heavy lifting and conditions that are dirty and or greasy
- Some tasks require working outside.

- Excavators, Skid Steers, Gravel Trucks/Sand Trucks, Pickup Trucks, Trailers, Loaders, Snow throwers, Snow Blowers, Sweepers, Street Sweepers, Line trimmers, Hedge Trimmers, Mowers, Generators, Water pumps, etc.

Required:
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Mechanic: 1 year apprentice with basic maintenance and hand tool knowledge. will consider a non-registered apprentice with the right attitude and drive to learn the trade
- Skilled individual with a positive attitude who knows about maintenance, and a general knowledge of mechanical aspects. familiar with diesel engines diagnoses and repair, basic welding and basic hydraulic experience an asset
- must have a good attention to detail and good manual dexterity
- the ability to prioritize and multitask various duties
- Take direction and carry out instructions in an accurate manner
- work independently or with minimal supervision
- Clean and organized
- Able to work long hours
- MUST have basic hand tools and willing to work at building up your tool box
- One (1) year experience in a maintenance shop/ related experience is considered an asset
- Must be flexible to work all hours/days including nights, weekends and holidays, able to come in on short notice on call as dictated by operational requirements
- Must be reliable and dependable
This job requires the person to have their own reliable transportation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
