Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service/Parts Advisor to join our automotive team. The ideal candidate will serve as a key point of contact for customers, providing exceptional customer service while assisting with parts and service needs. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, sales skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers. Previous dealership experience and familiarity with automotive repair are highly valued. The Service/Parts Advisor will contribute to the overall efficiency of the service department by ensuring customer satisfaction and promoting additional sales through upselling.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a positive rapport
- Assist customers in identifying their vehicle’s parts and service needs
- Provide accurate information regarding repair procedures, parts availability, and pricing
- Upsell additional services and parts to maximize customer satisfaction and revenue
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper cash handling procedures
- Coordinate with technicians and service staff to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, work orders, and sales transactions
- Keep the parts department organized, stocked, and properly labeled
- Follow up with customers on pending repairs or parts orders to ensure satisfaction
- Stay informed about new products, services, and promotions to better serve customers
Qualifications
- Previous automotive experience or automotive service background preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicles and automotive repair processes preferred
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on professionalism and communication
- Sales experience with a focus on upselling additional products or services
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Basic computer skills for managing work orders and inventory systems
