Helix Contracting is a small to medium sized general contractor working in the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) industry.
Our customers are municipal, provincial and federal governments throughout Ontario.
We are looking for individuals that possess strong leadership skills, willing to travel to different job sites within North Western Ontario and/or Canada to complete the following duties.
PLEASE NOTE: This position is not located in Barrie, ON and requires a candidate who is willing to work away from home for 21 days on 10 days off in remote locations.
Duties
- Supervise and lead a team of workers in various construction projects
- Coordinate and assign tasks to team members
- Ensure that work is completed according to project specifications and timelines
- Provide guidance and training to team members as needed
- Oversee the use of power tools and equipment on job sites
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols
- Collaborate with site supervisors and project managers to ensure project success
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and experience in general ICI construction, equipment, tool safety, general construction procedures and techniques
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent coordination, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must have no criminal history
- Valid driver's license with a minimum 3 year clean abstract
