Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role provides vital support to pharmacists and ensures the smooth operation of pharmacy services. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and label prescriptions in accordance with medical orders and pharmacy protocols
- Maintain organized inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering guidance on over-the-counter products
- Manage patient records and update medication profiles with accuracy
- Support medication administration processes under supervision, adhering to safety standards
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting is highly desirable
- Experience as a pharmacy technician or similar role is preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to service
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
