Food and Conference Services – Part time Food Service Aide

St Peter’s is a Catholic Seminary of the Diocese of London, providing education programs for those preparing for priesthood, permanent diaconate and lay ministry.
Responsibilities:
The employee is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of dishes, tableware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils through manual and machine cleaning methods. Follow set up, cleaning/sanitizing policies within the dining hall areas. Organizes, cleans/sanitizes food/beverage stations, floors. Additional duties include catering set up and deliveries, receiving and storing deliveries, training of staff, and assistance for special functions/events with the cook.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years in Kitchen service, cooking experience, in a hospitality or residential establishment.
- WHIMIS, Food Handler’s Certificate.

- Demonstrated organizational skills with ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, reliable and hardworking.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a positive, genuine, professional attitude.
- Proven ability and natural inclination to respond courteously to instruction, questions and comments.
- Food preparation as required, especially executing culinary offerings for special events.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple conflicting priorities, repetitive tasks as required in an environment with some interruptions.
- Health and physical condition consistent with bending, prolonged standing, walking, lifting to 20 kg. and movement of equipment as required.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate industrial dishwasher. Manages recycling and waste bins.
- Inventory control. Stock supplies. Take initiative and follow through on other kitchen tasks as needed.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Part-time hours: 12 - 20 per week or more if extra events are scheduled.
- Schedule: afternoons, evenings, holidays, weekends.

Employment is conditional upon successful completion of criminal record checks and favorable reference checks. Our part-time employees receive 12% in lieu of benefits in addition to the posted rate.
