Position summary
Location: Remote. Open to candidates based in Canada or across North America.
Special Requirement: This position requires periodic travel within Canada and to the United States. Candidates must be legally eligible to travel to the U.S. for business purposes.
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver complex Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP projects, with a primary focus on Finance & Operations (F&O), CRM and the broader Microsoft technology stack.
In this role, you will oversee full project lifecycles, manage cross-functional global teams, and serve as the senior liaison for clients, executives, and technical stakeholders. You will be responsible for strategic project governance, scope and change control, budget management, and ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery in alignment with organizational goals.
Success in this role requires superior client relationship management skills, and a track record of building long-term trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels along with the ability to identify new opportunities as they arise.
Duties
Project Leadership and Management
- Lead the full project lifecycle of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, CRM optimization and implementation projects
- Build and maintain superior client relationships, acting as a trusted partner and primary contact for all project communications
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations
- Serve as senior project leader responsible for scope, risk, quality, change management, and schedule
- Manage and execute on project budgets and change orders
- Provide strategic oversight and governance throughout project execution, including scope control and change management
- Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams of solution architects, consultants, developers, and analysts across multiple time zones
- Coordinate efforts between internal teams, external vendors, Microsoft partners and client internal teams to ensure smooth collaboration
- Ensure delivery quality by maintaining accurate project documentation, including statements of work (SOW), RAID logs, and test plans, DevOps updates, etc.
- Manage and conduct steering committee meetings providing clear, concise executive status reporting
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment while balancing competing priorities
Client Relationship Management
- Establish exceptionally strong, trust-based customer relationships with key client stakeholders
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all client stakeholders
- Partner with stakeholders to set direction, define priorities, and align on goals
- Communicate effectively with senior management, including C-level executives, SMEs, and IT teams
- Proactively manage and align client expectations with project deliverables and success criteria
Risk and Quality Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues to prevent escalations
- Implement robust quality assurance processes and governance frameworks
- Maintain risk registers and track resolution activities to closure
- Ensure compliance with company methodologies, standards, and best practices
- Foster continuous improvement of delivery processes and methodologies
- Administer and control scope changes in alignment with project objectives
Team Coordination and Communication
- Collaborate effectively with functional and technical delivery teams
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure comprehensive documentation
- Coordinate team resources to meet deliverables on time and to specification
- Provide mentorship, support, and first-line escalation for project-related concerns
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification, and Azure fundamentals certification preferred
- Minimum 7 years’ professional services project management experience in enterprise technology delivery
- 5 years’ experience successfully managing ERP, CRM, or Cloud solutions with strong preference for Microsoft Dynamics 365
- 3 years’ experience directly managing Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O implementations/optimizations
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams of 10 to 20+ consultants on complex multi-platform projects
- Proven track record delivering complex ERP projects on time, within scope, and on budget
- Experience managing projects with offshore and onshore resources
- Language Skills: English required; French is an asset.
Key Competencies
- Exceptional client-facing skills with the ability to engage and influence C-level executives
- Expert-level experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, hybrid)
- Advanced proficiency with Azure DevOps or equivalent project management tools
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities with business and technical acumen
- Deep knowledge of ERP delivery methodologies (Sure Step, Success by Design, FastTrack, etc.)
- Broad understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O modules; familiarity with Customer Engagement (CE) or Business Central is a plus
- Ability to bridge technical and business stakeholders effectively
- Proven leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of data migration and system integration approaches
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Experience leveraging AI tools and technology (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve project documentation, analysis, and productivity.
