We are seeking a Coordinator, Food Operations. This position plays a central role in the operations of the Brantford Food Bank. overseeing the efficient operation of the Brantford Food Bank's warehouse, inventory, food distribution, volunteer engagement, and community food partnerships. The Coordinator serves as the primary lead for day-to-day food operations, ensuring food is received, stored, tracked, and distributed safely and effectively while fostering strong relationships with volunteers, donors, food industry partners, and Community Food Share member agencies.
The Coordinator will provide operational guidance, coordinate volunteers, support food procurement and recovery efforts, and acts as an ambassador for the food bank within the community. This position combines operational oversight with relationship-building responsibilities and plays a critical role in strengthening food access across the community.

Duties
As Coordinator, Warehouse & Logistics, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Food & Warehouse Operations:
- Coordinate the daily operations of the food bank warehouse including receiving, storage, staging, and distribution of food and product.
- Maintain clean organized warehouse & systems that support efficient product movement and storage.
- Ensure food is handled, stored, and distributed safely and in accordance with food safety standards.
- Prepare and stage orders for the distribution of food to Community Food Share member agencies and internal food bank programs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant warehouse environment.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment in good condition
Food Recovery
- Support the coordination of food recovery and donation logistics.
- Work with donors and transportation partners to facilitate efficient food pickups and deliveries.
- Assist in identifying new food sourcing opportunities.
- Support procurement logistics for large donations, food drives, and seasonal campaigns.
- Communicate available food offers to partner organizations.
- Receive and inspect incoming food donations and purchased products.
- Track and maintain accurate inventory records and product movement.
Community & Volunteer Engagement
- Train volunteers on food safety, warehouse procedures, and organizational expectations.
- Work with and support volunteers creating a welcoming and inclusive volunteer experience.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with food donors, community partners, businesses, and food industry stakeholders.
- Serve as the onsite primary point of contact for product deliveries and distribution (at the warehouse).
- Participate in community events, networking opportunities, and stakeholder meetings as required.
Reporting & Data Tracking:
- Maintain accurate records related to food donations, inventory, distribution, volunteer participation, and community partnerships.
- Prepare operational reports and provide data for funder reports and program evaluation.
- Monitor key performance indicators as directed. Complete internal reports and provide operational data.
Experience
· 2+ years of experience coordinating operations, volunteers, logistics, community programs, or related functions
· Experience working in a nonprofit, food bank, warehouse, community service, or volunteer-driven environment is considered an asset
· Experience building relationships with community partners, donors, businesses, or volunteers
· Experience in food distribution, food service logistics, or nonprofit operations is considered an asset.· Experience working with volunteers is an asset.
· Strong organizational and logistics coordination skills.
· Experience managing inventory systems and tracking data.
· Knowledge of warehouse safety and food handling standards.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Valid Class G driver’s licence and clean driver’s abstract.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment.
· Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
· Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
