Job Description: CCA – ( permanent, casual)
Open to RN/LPN and CCA students!
International students in Canada who hold a nursing degree can also apply!
Qualifications/Responsibilities:
- Reliable, good attendance record and cheerful disposition
- Maintenance of a clean and sanitary environment
- Effective communication, both written and verbal in English as well as computer literacy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality for residents, staff and organizational information
- Must take initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision
- Respectful and hardworking team player with a professional and courteous manner
- Police check including vulnerable sector search completed within the last 6 months
- Ability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Personal care, bathing, dressing grooming
- Knowledge of physical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs of resident
- Assist with oral care, skin care, meals and mobilizing
- Documentation and reports as required
- Ability to follow direction on a daily basis and in emergency situations
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned by the charge nurse or designate
Training/Experience:
- Standard First Aid or Basic Life Support – CPR / Choking – Adult
- CCAs will work within the NSAHO Scope of Practice
- Successful completion of CCA/PCW course
- Alzheimer course preferred
- Personal care of residents including restorative care and the ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Experience in a similar environment is considered an asset
- Experience with paperless charting required
