Overview
The position is the operations seat in the business, reporting directly to the General Manager and carrying full accountability for field execution: crews, quality, safety, equipment, subcontractors, and the cost side of every job we run.
The role is deliberately hands-on. The successful candidate is at the yard when crews roll out and in the field verifying work, not managing the operation at a distance. The compensation band reflects a senior operator with genuine ownership of the function rather than a supervisory layer.
About Pressure Kleen
Pressure Kleen has been cleaning commercial kitchen exhaust systems for more than 60 years. We work to NFPA 96 standards for national property managers, energy and industrial clients, and QSR chains across Ontario. The work happens at night and before dawn, in tight mechanical spaces and on rooftops, and it has to be right the first time — the fire code does not grade on a curve.
The Role
This is an important operations job at Pressure Kleen. You own field execution end to end. You report to the General Manager and work alongside him daily — there is no layer between you and the work, and none between you and the decision-maker.
What You Will Own
Field Operations
- Meet crews at shift start — assignments, equipment, site access, and hazards confirmed before trucks leave
- Handle callouts, no-shows, and emergency service in real time
- Manage subcontractors and their compliance, insurance, and work quality
- Own service delivery on all accounts: property managers, industrial sites, and multi-location QSR portfolios
Quality and Compliance
- Own NFPA 96 compliance across every job we deliver — inspection, documentation, and sign-off
- Conduct unannounced on-site inspections; verify work against scope before it is billed
- Own before/after photo documentation, service reports, and access panel and sticker compliance
- Investigate escalations personally, attend the site, and close the loop with the client in writing
- Reject substandard work and fix the root cause, not just the job
Safety
- Own the health and safety program: OHSA compliance, PPE, fall protection, lockout, and confined space
- Run toolbox talks; maintain incident, near-miss, and inspection records
- Keep certification and training files current and audit-ready for client and insurer review
People
- Hire, train, and develop supervisors, crew leads, and technicians
- Set the field standard and hold the team to it — coaching, documentation, and progressive discipline
- Build bench strength so the operation is not dependent on any one person, including you
Cost and Reporting
- Own labour, equipment, fleet, chemical, and consumable budgets
- Track hours, drive time, and materials against quoted job values; act on jobs that are bleeding margin
- Verify timesheets before payroll cut-off
- Report weekly to the General Manager on productivity, quality, safety, margin, and equipment status
- Identify additional scope in the field and hand qualified opportunities to Sales
What You Bring
Required
- 5+ years managing field service, cleaning, sanitation, restoration, or mechanical trades operations, including managing supervisors — not just crews
- Track record of running a schedule, a budget, and a standard at the same time
- Comfortable working nights and early mornings; this is when the work happens
- Physically capable of roof access, ladders, and confined spaces
- Valid G licence with a clean driver’s abstract
- Working command of OHSA and job-site safety practice
- Clear written English for client correspondence and reporting
- Able to pass a criminal record check (required for client site access)
Assets
- Kitchen exhaust cleaning experience and direct familiarity with NFPA 96
- Working at Heights, Confined Space, and WHMIS certification
- Experience owning national or multi-site service accounts
- Dispatch and scheduling software and job costing experience
- Trade background (HVAC, sheet metal, mechanical)

Pay: $95,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
