JOB SUMMARY
The Front Desk Receptionist/Associate is responsible for creating a professional and positive experience for all members and guests. This role serves as the first point of contact, providing exceptional customer service while managing daily front desk operations, member accounts, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, friendly, organized, great at sales, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This job is part-time working 10-25 hours weekly, various shifts rotating with other employees. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, Saturdays 9:00am to 4:00pm, and Sundays 10:00am to 2:00pm. The pay is $20 an hour with high commission opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
- Greet members, trials, and guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Check members in and verify memberships.
- Assist prospective members by answering questions and directing them to the appropriate staff.
- Address member concerns promptly and professionally or escalate when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized front desk and lobby area.
Membership and Sales Support
- Sell and process new memberships, renewals, upgrades, and cancellations.
- Explain membership options, club policies and available progreams.
- Process payments accurately, including memberships, merchandise, and services.
- Maintain accurate member accounts and documentations.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Answer and handle incoming phone calls and emails.
- Schedule appointments and classes as needed.
- Perform data entry and maintain confidential member information.
- Complete opening and closing procedures.
- Assist with filing, inventory, and general administrative tasks.
Facility Support
- Monitor front desk activity and ensure authorized access to the facility.
- Report maintenance, cleanliness, or safety concerns to management.
- Restock front desk supplies and retail items as needed.
- Assist with club events, promotions, and member engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Fluent in English.
- Previous customer service, hospitality, retail, or front desk experience.
- Previous experience in receptionist roles, office administration, or other clerical work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Computer and technology proficiency, and ability to learn membership management software.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous in a busy environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a fitness, health club, hospitality, or customer service environment.
- Cash handling and point-of-sale experience.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
