Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate veterinary team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing high-quality care to animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments
- Prepare animals for procedures by restraining and administering medications as directed
- Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens
- Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other laboratory procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient charts
- Administer vaccines, medications, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and treatment areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and health maintenance
- Monitor anesthesia during surgeries and assist with recovery procedures
Experience
- Previous laboratory experience is preferred to support diagnostic testing processes
- Experience working with animals in a veterinary or animal care setting is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
