Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for freight transportation across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and safety features, reporting any issues promptly.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to maintain vehicle functionality.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage logs, and freight manifests in compliance with company policies.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures during operations.
- Assist in the operation of heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading cargo.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate delivery schedules.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience with freight transportation and commercial driving operations.
- Knowledge of forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is preferred.
- Basic automotive repair skills are a plus for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks related to loading/unloading freight.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening prior to employment.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
