Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Operate Class 1 commercial trucks for the transportation of freight across designated routes.
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured and compliant with safety regulations before departure.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels.
- Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as necessary, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance or coordinate repairs with automotive repair specialists when needed.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies during transportation activities.
- Assist in the operation of heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading cargo.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues encountered during transit.
Skills
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling and securement procedures.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight transportation.
- Excellent navigation skills and ability to read maps or GPS systems accurately.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers, clients, and team members.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and operate heavy machinery safely.
This role is vital for maintaining efficient logistics operations while prioritizing safety and professionalism at all times.
Pay: $3,500.00-$4,000.00 per week
