THE OPPORTUNITY
The Resident Coordinator Lead will provide hands-on leadership in support of the Clinical Managers by facilitating communication between staff and management, supporting frontline staff and providing daily clinical oversight.

Key Accountabilities
Clinical Supervision
- Provides quality clinical care expected of a standard Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Responsible for the daily supervision of Care staff, assignment of duties, and staff support.
- Ensures adherence to care plans during shifts, and may participate in direct resident care if required.
- Screens potential new admissions, facilitates the pre-admission process, and supports the admission, discharge, and transfer of residents.
- Monitors new treatments and new orders written for residents with complex care.
- Participates in care planning discussions during team meetings and resident care conferences.
Administration
- Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standards, policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
- Ensures timely and accurate documentation of resident care.
- Addresses resident/ family concerns in a timely manner to ensure satisfaction, reporting to the Manager as appropriate.
- Facilitates decisions during emergencies and different code situations.
- Participates on committees, CQI projects, and other assigned activities.
- Respects and maintains the privacy and confidentiality of residents and staff.
Leadership
- Demonstrates, promotes and advocates the Wing Kei vision, mission and core values.
- Coaches and mentors team members in incidental learning.
- Assists in the orientation of new staff and staff development activities.
- Serves as a liaison among nurses, physicians, resident/ families and other departments.
- Engages families/residents, staff and interdisciplinary teams in promoting collaboration and teamwork.
- Manages conflicts and demonstrates professionalism and effective communication.
- Leads an effective team, encouraging positive, professional behaviors of staff while at work.
THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL SUCCEED
- Is aligned with Wing Kei’s vision and mission to continue to deliver excellence in senior care.
- Is a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with current CRNA/CLPNA registration.
- Has 3 years of experience in continuing care.
- Holds a current CPR (BCLS) certificate.
- Exhibits strong leadership skills that are aligned with Wing Kei values.
- Able to quickly and accurately assess residents’ conditions.
- Able to efficiently handle emergencies and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Possesses a caring and sympathetic manner.
- Has excellent organization skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Possesses effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- The ability to communicate in Chinese would be an asset.
WORK HOURS: 8 hours a day; 5 days a week. Will be required to join the on-call rotation, which includes evenings and weekends.
