King Animal Hospital is seeking skilled and motivated Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our Emergency (ER) team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in high-pressure situations, enjoy rapid decision-making, and are passionate about providing immediate, life-saving patient care.
About Us
King Animal Hospital is a privately owned, state-of-the-art equine and small animal referral and emergency hospital located in King City, Ontario. Our 60,000 sq. ft. facility offers advanced diagnostics and a highly collaborative environment.
As part of our ER team, you will work alongside experienced RVTs, ACAs, CSRs, ER veterinarians, and board-certified specialists in surgery, critical care, neurology, internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, and more—providing exposure to complex and rewarding emergency cases every day.
The Role – Emergency (ER) RVT
This position is perfect for someone who excels in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment and is confident managing urgent and critical cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform triage and assist with rapid patient assessments
- Provide immediate nursing care and stabilization for emergency cases
- Assist veterinarians with emergency procedures and diagnostics
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments efficiently and accurately
- Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and pet owners during high-stress situations
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records (EzyVet, VetRadar)
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing with the OAVT
- Strong clinical and technical skills with a passion for emergency medicine
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and efficient in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Previous ER experience is an asset, but we are open to training the right candidate

- Competitive compensation ($28–$42/hour) plus 2.00 night shift, plus 15 percent premium for every shift worked in the Emergency Services department.
- Shifts are 2 days followed by 2 nights and 5 days off. Day shifts are 7 a.m. to 7:30 pm and night shifts are 7:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.
