Position Summary
Rowland Emergency Vehicles Ltd. is seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Financial Controller to lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations for our growing emergency and specialty vehicle manufacturing organization.
This role is responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, compliance, audit coordination, cost analysis, and operational financial support across the business. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting executive decision-making, improving financial processes, enhancing reporting capabilities, and driving operational efficiency in a custom manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of balancing strategic financial leadership with day-to-day operational accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, budgeting processes, and variance analysis reporting.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute operational and financial KPI reports to support executive and departmental decision-making.
- Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise with auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost analysis.
- Partner with operations and executive leadership to support strategic planning, business growth initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
- Analyze production costing, margins, overhead allocation, and project profitability within a manufacturing environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, ERP optimization, and financial process automation.
- Assist with insurance, risk management, and compliance reporting requirements.
- Lead and mentor accounting and finance team members.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation is required
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within manufacturing, automotive, emergency vehicle, or industrial environments.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP ERP experience, including:
- Financial reporting
- General ledger management
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Costing and inventory analysis
- Data extraction and report generation
- Financial dashboard and KPI reporting
- Month-end and year-end reporting processes
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Experience preparing executive-level financial reports and operational analysis.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing costing, inventory management, and operational finance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience within custom manufacturing, fleet, automotive, emergency vehicle, or specialty vehicle industries.
- Experience supporting ERP implementations, system upgrades, or process improvements.
- Experience with KPI development, operational dashboards, and executive reporting packages.
- Knowledge of Canadian tax, compliance, and audit requirements.

Pay: $115,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
