WHAT WE NEED
We're expanding our fabrication and technical solutions team and we're looking for an Electrical Assembly & Test Technician who takes pride in building high-quality electrical equipment that powers critical infrastructure. If you're an electrician, electrical technician, or someone with experience in panel building, industrial controls, automation, or electrical testing, this is an opportunity to work on custom-engineered solutions while growing your technical expertise alongside an experienced team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Building and wiring custom electrical equipment including distribution panels, control panels, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPPs), and automation systems.
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Installing and terminating power and control wiring, relays, PLC components, sensors, power supplies, and communication devices.
- Performing point-to-point verification, functional testing, and troubleshooting of completed assemblies.
- Supporting commissioning, startup, and occasional field service activities at customer sites.
- Working closely with engineering and fabrication teams to improve products and manufacturing processes.
- Completing quality inspections, testing documentation, and production records.
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and quality-focused work environment.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician License (or registered apprentice)
- Electrical Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma or Automation Technician diploma
- Experience building and assembling electrical panels
- Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems
- Experienced with control wiring, motor controls, PLCs and automation systems
- Strong proficiency reading electrical schematics and blueprints
- Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and testing, including test operation equipment
Experience with any of the following is considered an asset:
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- PLC troubleshooting
- Data centre power systems
- CSA-certified equipment manufacturing
- Primary injection testing
