Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auto Body Prepper to join our dynamic automotive repair team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting and repair by performing thorough surface cleaning, sanding, masking, and minor bodywork. Your expertise will ensure that each vehicle is primed for flawless finishing, contributing to high-quality repairs and satisfied customers. Duties
- Clean and sand vehicle surfaces to remove dirt, rust, and old paint using hand tools and power tools
- Mask off areas that do not require painting to ensure precise application of paint and coatings
- Perform minor body repairs such as filling dents, smoothing surface imperfections, and aligning panels
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components safely using proper techniques and equipment
- Prepare vehicles by ensuring all surfaces are properly prepped for painting or further repair work
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency throughout the prep process
- Collaborate with technicians and painters to ensure seamless workflow and high-quality results
Experience
- Prior dealership or automotive repair shop experience preferred, demonstrating familiarity with vehicle prep processes
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques
- Experience working with automotive paints, primers, fillers, and masking materials is a plus
- Mechanic or automotive repair background beneficial for understanding vehicle structures and repair requirements
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining high standards of quality and safety standards

Pay: $20.42-$30.00 per hour
