Our team is expanding! We are hiring a pro shop manager assistant for this years season.
One of the responsibilities of the Pro Shop Manager Assistant is to maintain the pro shop operations and assist members or guests with their check-in and payment, retails sales or other needs. They will also be responsible for monitoring the pace of play and overall experience of guests. Other duties include assisting player needs, monitoring rules and regulations of the golf club, and organizing, promoting, and running golf tournaments; promoting league play, and assist with small group outings.
Responsibilities
- Welcome members and provide assistance with their clubs and other equipment
- Facilitate and assist with merchandise sales, orders, receiving and display of retail goods
- Maintain the cleanliness of the Pro Shop
- Responsible to ensure that all rules and regulations of golf course are being followed to create a safe and friendly environment
- Respond to golfer questions, requests or concerns and resolve in a timely manner
- Direct golfers around the course if they are unfamiliar with the course layout
- Maintain accurate daily pace of play records
- Inform golfers of course policies and if someone is in violation address immediately
- Attempt to mediate any disputes that might arise between individuals or groups
- Coordinate pace of play with Golf Attendants on course
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the highest level of member and guest experience
- Dispatch Golf Club or Food and Beverage Attendants when needs and requests arise
- Encourage players start promptly, recording the start time and the number of carts and players
- While on course pick up any garbage and straighten stakes, cart directional signs and ropes, replacing or adding if necessary
- Adjust as necessary, if fairway entry and exit points have mud tracks
- Communicate with Golf Attendants of any interactions that arise with a group
- Ensure all members feel welcome, are given responsive, friendly and courteous service, and that all situations are handled in an expedited manner
- Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
- Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
- Organize Golf cart fleet, and display properly throughout the day
- Communicate with grounds keeper superintendent
- Communicate with Events Coordinator
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Golf Attendant or Prop Shop Attendant is considered an asset
- Knowledge of golf and golf operations
- Prior experience in golf operations is recommended
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Must be computer literate. Preferred candidate will have previous experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and golf club software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Pro Shop Attendant: 2 years (preferred)
- retail management: 2 years (preferred)
